Detailed information regarding the spiritual significance and daily program schedule of the Urs celebrations of Hazrat Baba Tajuddin (R.A.).
In Sufi terminology, **"Urs"** translates to "marriage" or "spiritual union". It marks the anniversary of a saint's passing, representing the moment their soul left the physical world to be eternally united with the Creator (Allah). The annual Urs is celebrated not as a day of mourning, but as a joyful celebration of spiritual eternity.
The Urs celebrations officially commence on the **22nd of Moharram** every year. The opening day starts at 9:00 AM with the **Rasm-e-Parcham Kushai** (Flag Hoisting Ceremony) at the Bada Tajbagh Dargah Sharif, followed by the official Urs Inauguration ceremony in the presence of trustees and dignitaries.
The **26th of Moharram** is the heart of the Urs. The historical **Darbari Shahi Sandal** procession is taken out from the Trust Office with grand music, bands, and Nagadas. The procession winds through the streets of Nagpur, with lakhs of devotees offering flowers and chadar. It returns in the evening for the **Chadar Poshi** (sacred cloth offering) at the Shrine.
The Urs concludes with the **Qul Shareef** prayers. The **Chhota Qul Shareef** takes place on the 27th of Moharram, and the grand **Bada Qul Shareef** is held on the 29th of Moharram. During these assemblies, special blessings are recited, and holy rose water from the tomb is sprayed on the devotees.
